The OSC commencing its first awareness phase:

One of the most important plans the Oman Society of Contractors has been created for is to raise awareness amongst construction companies, government bodies and citizens. Since the beginning of August, a team from OSC has visited many companies at various sectors to acknowledge them about all services needed by contractors and support their demands. Furthermore, the OSC has adopted a further plan to support country’s plans in order to progress works towards sophistication and workers towards efficiency. Also, the OSC with the attendance of many local, gulf and international companies participated in the exhibition of heavy and construction equipments, and real estate representation agencies which had been held from 4 to 6 August 2009. This participation was aimed to be as a direct communication with contractors and companies owned by either individual or sector. 

The team has been formed to promote about the OSC and its objectives intended to be accomplished via registering companies and finding solutions for barriers in the bath of contractors. It also has been formed to fulfill the needs of labor market and chase thrives of rapid changing in the field of construction in Oman. The OSC has targeted to qualify an Omani cadre by training and hiring it in the construction sector on the basis of labor market needs. It has provided all the necessary information needed by contractors from the association in collaboration with responsible bodies.

The OSC has already planned to establish several workshops and technical training courses concerning on health and occupational safety. It has had a vision to be able in training and qualifying as many officers as it could in the field of safety and healthy occupational environment.
